Interestingly, Instagram was originally just testing the feature, and a select group of users were allowed to use it. But since the feature was so well received, it was added to every Instagram feed. Started

The option to reshare posts in history is now an essential feature on Instagram. You need only the Instagram app for Android or iOS, depending on the device you are using. Make sure to use the links provided to update the app to the latest version.

The great thing about this feature is that it now gives proper credit to the original poster. You used to only be able to see the poster's IG username at the bottom of the post, but now the link is interactive in your Story.

This means that anyone viewing your Story and clicking the embedded link will be taken to the original post by the person who first uploaded it. Why is that important? Imagine creating quality content, no matter what the content (crisp landscape images, a funny joke, or even a song), and not getting credit for it.

I'm not sure about you, but I get pretty pissed off when someone steals my jokes and pretends they made them up first. The same is for any other type of content on Instagram. Using someone else's content is only fair if you give credit to the author (or poster).

Of course, if you choose to share your posts, it's pretty obvious who the poster was.
